I’m constantly repeating myself – knowing your ideal customer makes everything in marketing so much easier…and brings way better results.
So why aren’t more businesses prioritizing this? It’s time intensive and also (depending on your mood) hard work – doing the research, stalking groups and forums, trying to get your list to complete a survey, conducting interviews etc…
And there is this thing called ego, where business owners think they already know who their ideal customers are, who their subscribers are.
Let’s put ego aside and assume you’d really want to get more insights about your ideal customer.
Is there a way to do this without investing a lot of time and energy in research, or begging your list to take a survey?
Yep, and looks to me like it’s really starting to catch on.
I remember few years back, everyone on Facebook was completing some sort of “what kind of bla bla bla are you?” type of quiz.
And they’d share their results and their friends would get in, then their friends would do the same and so on.
These things can go viral pretty quick.
And if you know what you are doing, you can get loads of info about your target audience.
And if you really know what you’re doing, you can grow your list along the way too.
Powerful and fun stuff.
I’m currently writing a lengthy article on using quizzes to grow your list.
So this week’s emails will also be about quizzes.
